Derie graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Architecture from the University of Mindanao, Philippines. She worked in Dubai for 7 years as part of the technical support team in a company known for manufacturing and supplying protective coatings, fireproofing, and other industrial and commercial material solutions. She also worked in an engineering consultancy in the Philippines working with variety of projects for Oil Companies, including Chevron.

Derie successfully took the Philippine Architect Licensure exam in 2014. 

In 2016 she and her family immigrated to Canada and balanced her time with taking care of her children, her career, and studies. Her love for Architecture led her to study Architectural Technology at NAIT, successfully completing her degree with honors. She is proficient in using AutoCAD, Revit, Sketch-up, and Enscape. Derie is very determined to help the Systemic team by being creative and as accurate as possible in each task in a given time frame. She never stops learning and improving every skill that she has by reading books and watching LinkedIn learning.

In her free time, she loves spending time with her family playing musical instruments, road trips, and traveling. She likes seeing nature as it inspired her in her work.
